I loved this poem when I first read it in Shit Creek Review. I’m so glad to come across it again. Koh is a poet I will follow, his work is raw and affecting.
Jee – The next level for Whale Sound, should I ever have enough time to dedicate to it, would be to post multiple readings, each by a different reader, of the same piece, and discovering what that teaches us. I think such juxtapositions would be enormously powerful and interesting. (Is your reading of ‘Childhood Punishments’ available anywhere online?!) Thanks for letting me read your awesome poem! Best, Nic

Completely agree! Thanks for listening, Risa.
Thanks, Nic. Your reading is much quieter than mine. I like it very much.

Wow, both to the poem and the reading of it.
And what a great idea for multiple readings, Nic!
