  1. So much to love here, and to love scared to death. The “decadence in the wall” for instance, the appointment, the fish.

  2. Nic, beautiful poem and such a lovely reading….bravo!

  3. yarrow’s name play as the Fauves recall the early twentieth-century modern artists who used strong color to redefine realistic images:

    “Madame Fauve,

with a twisted braid, is dancing. So is

    the decadence in the wall….”

the wonderful contrast between vitality & aging

    in a random world:

“On the bulkhead of the horizon,

clouds collect, indifferently like restaurant fish.”

  4. I love this piece and your reading of it, Nic. I am sorry to say I am not familiar with the work of Mr. Yarrow; my aim is to remedy that oversight stat.
